Dear Peter,
I was born in Lucknow and spent my first 5 years there. The place has an interesting mix of Hindu,Muslim and British architecture.
To start with, here are some snaps of the Residency. This place took quite a beating in 1857.Check out the holes created by cannon ball fire in the second snap. The ruins are beautifully preserved to remind us of the epic struggle and the solid defence. Dedicated to both the British and the Indian sepoys who laid down their lives fighting for a cause.
