Customs officers not clearing imported air pistol

Send them a registered letter asking them under what provision have they held your air pistol back, failing which you shall be compelled to initiate legal proceedings into the matter starting with an RTI inquiry to their office asking for relevant notices, circulars etc under which the airpistol has been impounded.
CC the letter to the head of the deptt in delhi as well
And you might as well file an RTI via RTI Nation online and watch the fun.

how do I know if my air pistol is confiscated by the customs, do they send me any notice regarding my air pistol. 1 year ago I was not a member of any rifle club and due to poor knowledge on import of air guns I had imported a air pistol and still I haven't received any notice saying that air pistol is confiscated so is the same thing going to happen with this air pistol that I have ordered few weeks ago?

@I'am Gladiator - A lot of homework required when it comes to dealing with customs or the imports. Chapters are different- and a lot of times they got nothing to do with the import policies.
