Something nice on it's way.
The specifications as given to the bowyer:
Model: Bama Bows Tribute. Right Hand.
Bow length: 68" nock-to-nock.
Draw weight: 65# @ 27”.
Riser length: 16” fade to fade. Riser to be bedded.
Riser width: 1 1/8"
Tiller option: Split finger. Tillered for a 27" draw.
Limbs: Reflex / set-back. 3 laminations of tempered bamboo under black fibreglass on back and belly. No glass lamination between the bamboo laminations.
Limb width at nock: 7/16". (Just a suggestion. Final dimensions left to you.)
Limb width at riser: 1 1/8”. (Just a suggestion. Final dimensions left to you.)
Limbs not trapped to belly or back.
Handle: A straight and wedge / teardrop shaped grip, with the narrower end towards the belly. See attached pictures.
Handle width: Not less than 1 1/8”.
Handle depth: Between 2 1/8”" to 2 1/4" depending on my bow hand dimensions given below.
Wrist to tip of middle finger = 8”.
Finger span = 9 3/4”.
Width of palm, near wrist = 4”.
(The back of the grip should line up with the finger pads between the first and second finger joints.)
Shelf and Strike Plate: To be slightly radiused to minimise arrow contact.
Leather Strike Plate: 3/16" before centre or just enough for a 23/64" dia. arrow shaft. Hence, 3/16" or 0.2032" before centre.
Riser Wood: Cocobolo.
Riser overlay: None.
Riser accent stripe: None.
Riser accent flare: None.
Tips and overlays: Black Phenolic and Cocobolo.
Leather: Black. Smoother side to be visible. I'd like the leather that forms the strike plate and shelf to be tucked inside the leather of the grip.
Finish: Thunderbird Epoxy.
String: 3 ply D-97 Flemish 12 strand string required. Serving to fit Bohning Classic nock. String colours - brown and red. Quantity - 2 nos.
Inscription: Nate to inscribe, sign and date the bow.
Inlay: None.

You are getting a custom bow made?

The correct term is DEFLEX-REFLEX!kanwar76 wrote:Okie Rusty,

And the answer is no. Or should that be 'yes'?
I don't mind a bow with mildly deflexed-reflexed limbs (Nate just built his first one http://www.bamabows.com/mildrd.html ) but I prefer an American straight limbed semi-long bow.
Are you ever going to order yours?
P.S.: This one isn't a take-down.

I don't care if Nate's grandpappy calls it a reflex-deflex. That is wrong, as are most Americans who call it that. Next time don't argue with me!kanwar76 wrote:No, i was talking about reflex-deflex only. Saving monies, are we? Is the Puppy mobile consuming too much diesel?
