IOF .22 Scope Mount
Dear IFG friends,
I've finally purchased an IOF .22 rifle after looking out for a DBBL. You can find my previous post here- http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=16508.
I am looking for a scope for my IOF .22rifle. What magnification and features are to be considered and which Scope Mount has to be used?. Thanks.
Regards
Stamp Master
Edit (24 Aug)
Scope - I have finally brought a new scope 6-24X,40mm. I know 6-24X is something big for a .22. I've a 3-9X, 30mm which is currently being used by my friend.
Rings- Things to consider while buying rings for scope are- the height of the rings. If the scope is 40mm, 1inch high rings are necessary and the bottom has to be 1/2 inch for IOF .22. I'll post the pics soon.

Re: IOF .22 Scope Mount
Hello All,
I have mounted the scope and tried shooting a card board target at 25 yards. The scope is about 8 inch below from the target. In my second shot I aimed 8 inches higher and it was on dot and hit the bulls eye.
1. I need experts help to adjust my scope and fix my problem.
2. What range should i be zeroing my scope at- 25, 50, 100 yards. I am myself not sure at what range I would shoot. Please help with explanation too. Thanks.

Re: IOF .22 Scope Mount
Thanks for the early reply. The video didnt mention the range (distance) for which the rifle scope has been zeroed. And I am looking for detailed advice specific to IOF .22.

Re: IOF .22 Scope Mount
There is no such thing. It makes no difference whether your .22 RF rifle is an IOF, Anschuetz, Winchester, Remington, Chinese Brno clone, or Tula. What range you are going to sight the rifle in for depends entirely on you , and the use you are putting the rifle to. The lowest sight setting you'll find on .22 RF rifles is usually 25 or 50 meters/yards. A small four-power scope is what people usually put on a .22 RF used for small game; though you will see 3x9s as well, simply because that has pretty much become the standard.StampMaster wrote: And I am looking for detailed advice specific to IOF .22.

I finally zeroed my new scope for 25 yards (in between 23-25 meters). Thanks you all for support.
namcmd and NSSF Shooting Sportscast- Thanks, this was one of the easiest and low cost way to get the scope zeroed. Instead of firing many rounds and get zeroed.

Hi StampMaster,
> Log on to 'archerairguns.com' - there's a nice video on 'zeroing' demonstrated by Mr. Archer himself.
> Like IFGian Tworivers has mentioned zeroing at 50yds / 75yds is right for 0.22Lrs.
> BTW IOF 0.22 ammo are of poor quality - follow Dr.Jayakumar's suggestions & enjoy your shooting.

Re: IOF .22 Scope Mount
Hi All,
1. How will the ammo purchase quote work- calender year (1st Jan to 31st Dec), date of last purchase or financial year (April 1st to March 31st)?
2. What is the price of .22lr ammo in Andhra Pradesh. My last purchase was KF brand costing Rs 28 per pop, which I think is very expensive. Usually imported ammo (abroad) costs around Rs 4-5 a pop.
3. What all variety of ammo (standard, hollow point, sub-sonic etc) are available in India and their prices.
Thanks
