Which imported .22 rifles can be bought in 1.5 lakhs? Would they be better than any .22 handguns?
Many imported .22 rifles including Browning, BSA, RemIngton and Winchester can be bought in a budget of Rs. 1.5 lakh.
Whether a rifle or a handgun is better depends upon the use to which it will be put. A handgun can be carried in a concealed manner for self defense. It will be difficult to do this with a rifle unless it is concealed under a robe or an overcoat.
All the best.

You are right Kandarp. There are bolt action rifles without magazines in .22 as well as in larger calibres. These are single shot rifles. Some of the larger bores are even used by big game hunters in America and Africa. The Ruger Number 1 Single Shot bolt action rifle is a case in point.
Thanks!

Cannot compare or offer any advice on handgun vs. rifle till you mention your intended use(s).

Hardly so. The Ruger Number 1 is a falling block, not a "Single Shot bolt action rifle"...
Except for target and varmint rifles, single-shot centerfire bolt action rifles pretty much went out of style in the 1880s.

I want to use it for target practice. But I don't think good .22 Revolvers or pistols are out there in 1-2 lakhs rifles like Brno and Kriko are good and they are less costly.
