Thanksgiving gift from my wife's Mama ji

Post by Baljit » Sun Dec 09, 2012 2:26 am

Hello Guy’s
On thanksgiving weekend my wife’s uncle (mama ji) and his family visit us from Victoria BC. On the dinner table he said to me “Baljit I have something for you” and I ask him “what it is mama ji” and he said I’ll show you after the dinner.

After the dinner he went to his BMW X5 SUV and when he come back inside the house he have a shotgun in his hand.He hand over to me and said “this is for you and I know you are the only one can keep this really good”. Guy’s when he give me the shotgun I am just speechless. I don’t know what to say. I said “thank you mama ji” after this he said to me “give me a other drink” and we talk each other till 1 AM.

This is the one of the best gift i ever have, love you Mama ji.

Guy’s I don’t know anything about manufacturer (who care) of this shotgun. If any member knows about the manufacturer, please put some light on this. It is made in Italy.

I like to share some of pictures with you all.I hope all of you guy's going to enjoy the pictures.

Italian Shooting Proof.JPG
Thanks for sharing images of this lovely shotgun Baljit :cpix:

The "Crown on Top of Royal" marked on the barrels sure does suit your taste for Crown Royal Whiskey; what a coincidence!

I came across a link in Shotgun World where one or two members own similar guns and have been trying to find the lineage http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=5361

The other proof marks that you told me about on the phone PSF and FINITO mean Smokeless Powder and Finish Proof for firearms ready for sale - Gardone & Brescia, Italy

This reminds me of an incidence that took place about 28 yrs ago, a couple of years after I got married. I gave a surprise gift to my wife on her 25th birthday. It really made her jump with joy, a Beretta Over/Under 12 bore Model S56E. Not being any less generous,In turn on my coming birthday, she surprised me by presenting me with a beautifully woven Kanjivaram Saree.

This one's not for laughs guys. . The saree is long gone but the Beretta still adorns my cabinet.

Baljit,

Congratulations. You are lucky to have such a generous Manaji and the gun looks nice. As the SW link that Kalyan posted, the gun could have been made by any of the numerous gun makers in Italy for the said retailer. Much like Birmingham or Belgium's Liege or Suhl in Germany. Unless there is a name of the maker imprinted somewhere on that gun.

Marksman- A good one and a lesson to all who read it.

Best-
Vikram

That is really a nice gun and gift, Baljit! I love the engraving. Please let us know when you are able to trace the history of this piece. Such things from family have. Value far beyond what someone will pay, because the come with the love of a dear one. You are a fortunate man.
