Re-arming Indian army

Honestly speaking our policy makers are nut heads n 99% of them does not know the actual requirement of the equipment which we use on ground!!!since no one is bothered to take a feed back from the foot soldier or the sec cdr/pl cdr/coy cdr...higher ups takes decisions behind closed ac doors faar off from the maddening ground realities...lets see if this sudden wake up call does any good to the organisation otherwise we r always ready to ward off any evil even with kitchen knives n thats how we earn our respect world wide...inspite of lack of govt attention n interest in our well-being we always deliver the best... n wee ll keep-on doin dat with or w/o beretta..i just hope im not sounding cynical...sorry guys i knt help it

Here's to hoping it doesn't come to 'kitchen knives'...I'm sir garg if push comes to shove you can do always raid the langar for additional supplies or do what needs to be done in spite of kitchen knives.

A 7.62 calibre would quite likely have a lesser effective range than a 5.56 if the requirement is for a replacable upper as the case would necessarily be short with a short, low SD bullet..... A combination 5.56x45 with a 7.62x39 equivalent would be absolutely pointless however.
I`m glad that it appears that the INSAS is going to be abandoned - the reduced power 5.6x45 is hopeless.

a contract put together by clerks and a story reported by amateurs... referring to the multi-caliber contract for assault rifles. must fire 5.56x 7.62x45.
AND the army wants a separate contract for carbines where all the players for the multi-caliber are again in contest. how's that for confusing the enemy and ourselves. most world armies are going in for one standard weapon with different barrels... Indian army has drawn on its vast experience, beginning from the thought-controlled weapons of the Mahabharata to come up with these bizarre tenders.
