Re: The Gift
xl: Thanks for making my day. Thank you for sharing your memories of a great man. It's amazing how a hunk of metal and wood can store so much of value and of lives well lived. Very soon it will be your daughter's and then on through the ages.

People wherever they may be to what ever caste or creed they may belong are still all the same. I'm sure this gift is something you will treasure all your life and pass it on for generations to come.

Re: The Gift
What a wonderful story! We have seen the pictures of many beautiful guns on these pages, but who will doubt that this one ranks right up there with the best we have seen?
You know it is beautiful because you know the man whose life is represented by the gun he carried and used.
We know it is beautiful because of what you have shared of his life, represented by those pictures of the gun.
Thank you for the privilege of sharing in the story of your Gift.

Thanks all your your comments.
It does tend to reinforce ones belief in the basic goodness of humanity.
Moin and Brihaji, this is is very true. I have lived on three continents now and I have found this to be quite true.People wherever they may be to what ever caste or creed they may belong are still all the same.
