By Request, the Wife's Guns

Post by YogiBear » Fri Nov 23, 2012 5:07 am

OK, Here goes, the first 2 that I got for her.

The Beretta 84 was a special order, my friend, owner of the gun store brought 3 in at my request. This is the pick of the litter.

It was her Birthday present.

Image

This is her second, Beretta 92EL. At that time Beretta was making up to 100 only one day a month at their new US plant.

Image

This one I think is her third Beretta, a 96 in 40 cal. I added the compensated barrel. She shot it in several IPSC matches.
It is wearing Crimson Trace Laser grips and Beretta bright Gold grip screws(no longer availble)

Image

This was her Christmas present for 2011, Bersa Thunder 380, it comes from the factory like that. There are other variations.
I got this on impluse because she likes "pretty" guns. We fired it once and didn't like it. It has a very SNAPPY recoil like
the Walther PPK/s and hurt the web of the hand. Offered to sell it for her, but, she decided to keep it because it is "pretty".

Image

That's it for now, the rest are group shots. I will have to take better individual shots of the rest of her guns.

I will have to find nice backgrounds for her rifle and shotgun(s)

YogiBear,

All that I can see is the word 'image' where the photo is supposed to be :?

The link to the image doesn't allow hotlinking images.
Maybe the user needs to be logged into http://www.hunt101.com to access the images. This is the error we get:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /data/500/medium/P10203071.JPG on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
You need to upload them somewhere else (imageshack?) or attach them here :)

Edit: http://www.hunt101.com seems to be inaccessible by itself. Maybe it's servers are down at the moment, and will be up after a couple of hours or routine maintenance?

Aloha,

She really didn't shoot in any division.

She shot for the experience. Mainly the Pressure and stress factor.

She did well in that sense. T his was after I thaught her how to shoot.

Her times were at the bottom of the pack, but, her Scores were close to the top.

I taught her Accuracy is primary. Speed will come later.

She shot her 92EL in all her matches and the 96 Comp later.

We went thru the photos not showing up here before.

Some one mentioned that your groups host may be on other hosts spammer list and thus not allow

photos to be shown here.

If you can, All my uploaded photos are on Hunt.101.com under the same name.

This is about the only site that photos do Not show up on. Shows up in all the other gun forums that I'm on.

Hi Mr YogiBear,
I'm not able to access http://www.hunt101.com directly. And I'm smarter than the average computer user ;) Maybe the site's not accessible from India?
I'm able to access the site via a proxy, so I can confirm this:

Not sure how long this proxy will last. So I guess you need to upload it elsewhere (imageshack?) or attach it to this forum :)

Aloha,

Just looked thru the FAQ for this forum.

Unless I missed it, didn't say anything about how to attach photos to the forum

I AM NOT a computer person.

So if you want me to do a certain thing, Please make sure the instructions are simple for an old (I'm 66) man to understand.

I really don't want to open another photo sharing account.

Thank You

Hello Mr YogiBear,
When you click "POST REPLY" (not Quick Reply, but the button to the bottom left), you'll see the Upload Attachment tab at the bottom of the editor, next to the Options tab (Below the "Save Draft" "Preview" and "Submit" buttons). It should be similar to attaching a file elsewhere :)
If it's not an issue for you, I could upload it to my own server and host the images for you.
Regards,
Sriram

Aloha Sriramk,

Thank You, you don't have to use the Mr. just yogi is fine, I'm not one for titles.

OK, let's see if I can do Attachments.

Well, that didn't work since my files exceed the size limit, probably by a lot

Guess we'll have to do something different.

Sriram, does your offer mean I email the photos to you and you host them?

Yogi,

You could try uploading it to a third site and then hotlinking the image here. (Mods, I hope this is not frowned upon)

You do it in the following ways

1) go to a site that lets you upload pics, eg. http://tinypic.com/
2) Confirm the file type (Image in this example) and then Select Choose File
Image

3) Then Select the file you want to upload, One.JPG in my example
Image

4) Click Upload Now, It might make you confirm a Captcha Code
5) Once its uploaded it will give you a few options you can use the last Direct Link for Layouts for insertion
Image

6) You can now embed that link anywhere on IFG. eg.

Code: Select all

Hope it helps,
Kandarp

Aloha,

Thank You for all the photo help.

I'm trying Not to get involved with More photo hosting sites.

More humbug for me. I like to keep things to a minimum (KISS principal) and thus far Hunt101 has been OK.

This is the only forum that I have photo problems with.

If Shramk doesn't mind, I'll just mail him the photos and let him post them for me.

Back to topic.

Please try Not to Drool on your computers, wait til you see some of her other Berettas.

Too bad the Wife can't sell you my guns after I pass on. (I married a younger woman).

I think she could live very well with what she can get for them in India. She's grumbling at me Now

to sell off part of my collection NOW, so that she doesn't have problems later. Unfortunately, she has

a good idea what they're worth, if she doesn't know, a good friend does.

IF you want, Again by request, I can put up photos of My guns, after the Wife's of course.
