The manufaturing cost of rifles r low only goverment is making money they use recycled metal and they increase the price total manufaturing cost must not be few thouands in best of rifle anywhere in world.Everybody knows recycled metal does not cost much.It is just fooling the people like us as there is no competition but none has dared to file writ before supreme court or MRTP board regarding state policy if they cannot change import policy atleast they can allow private manufacturing .But generel feeling is againist gun ownership thanks to media .It is again state who issuses license to bad elements not the people.Further illegal weapons r used in most of the offences also sorry for going off topic but this is bitter truth.

At the OFB stall in Trade Fare, 2012, the 30-06 on display is having the magazine capacity of 3 only and the officials there have no clue about the so-called 5 magazine capacity.

Sainkji, just for my information, what is this obsession for a 5 shot 30-06,Bin laden is long gone, the rest of the Taliban is under ground,Sauer, which is a highly reputed manufacturer of weapons in their finite wisdom made the 202/ 212 in 3 shot magazine, they sell like hot cakes all over the world,in my personal opinion IOF which could really not even do a half decent clone of the Sauer, what a hash a 5 Shot clone of the Sauer be? ,shiver me timbers,i would shudder to think. Amit ji Sauer also makes a 5 shot magazine for the 30-06.There is even an 8 shot after market version.Useful for the chaps in Europe shooting wild boar.

Winne been on them Wild Boar/Roe Deer hunts ,was going this year also,{but life isnt kind every year  },my point was that the 3 shot sold very well, and still is selling pretty well. If you take enough $/Euros/Pounds, Sauer can also make a 20 Shot for you, point here being the competence of the Jokers who cant even copy a 3 shot.and the obsession, with the larger magazines, hope its not Freudian , ,Best Amit

err just out of curiousity if the said obession is indeed Freudian
shouldn't they be hankering after a longer barrel instead of a larger mag? Just sayin.....

Amit do you think that this gentleman suffers from the said freudian complex? I am sure you would have got the same number with a 3 shot mag

There's an old American Indian saying often repeated by the elders in the tribe whilst hearing gunshots fired far away by rookie youngbloods who've gone hunting some distance from camp! "One shot...meat, two shots?? maybe...three shots??? HEAP SHIT!!"

Bottom line, If you cant hit em with three, how's five gonna help you?
"With solid bullets on heavy animals such as elephant, rhino and buffalo this power is quite apparent but is not so obvious as when soft-nose bullets are being used, say, lion, particularly when is a case of stopping a charge : the .404 will stop him all right, but will seldom crumple him quite so completely as will the .416" -- John Taylor, Big Game and Big Game Rifles, (Ch. IX)
