Dear Moin,
I don't think it would work as a tactical pen but yes its has a hard stainless steel body... and this particular model is very much popular for EDC... weight should be around 20-25 gms.

To be used as a Kubotan, effective if one knows how to use on pressure points etc. In short looks like a pen, but to be used as a defensive or offensive weapon. Rick Hinderer's pens probably the best money can buy.

I'm not sure what the Zebra Pen is, can't see youtube videos.

@Vikram Here's my answer Sir: EDC(Every-Day Carry) Pen is just the pen which you choose to carry in your shirt-pocket or back-pocket daily. Functionality-wise it's just a pen and therefore used only for writing. However, with the recent advent of impact weapons/kubotans, tactical pens have been introduced which provide a better EDC option serving the purpose of an Impact weapon apart from being a writing instrument. Nonetheless, any pen that you carry every day in your pocket is an EDC pen.Vikram wrote:Educate the ignorant here, please. What is an EDC pen and what's its use apart from writing? Thanks.

No offense to Rick Hinderer but for $250, I'd much rather go to George.
George Kellgren of Keltec, that is, because he will sell me one of these.

Yes, I know there are limitations as to where you can carry, availability, etc. just saying.
A Taser, a knife, even pepper spray would be preferable to getting into grappling range to use a kubotan.

LMAO.....a pen?! Your EDC is a pen? Have been watching 'bourne identity' again have we? Well sirs...the only way you could make it work is to quote the price to your intended assailant and offer the pen as gift to mollify him...unless of course yer a trained 'beverly hills ninja!'

Well, like I said Vikram, it's probably the best money can buy. It's like what all can you buy for the price of one Holland and Holland or a Purdey Rifle ,a car, a house, many years salary or 50 Remington Rifles. It's the same comparison Rick Hinderer's a top class knife maker and his folders and other products command a heavy premium.Vikram wrote:Moin and AK27, Thank you for your replies.

What pistol is that XL, the link take me to a product not found page on the phone browser. Is that Massad Ayood, there's a neat Spyderco Massad Ayoob model. I'm not advocating the use of a kubotan, I don't know how to use one, Vikram asked and I posed the link to some of the best money can buy. BTW are Tasers available to the common public and are they legal in the US.xl_target wrote:$250! Splutter, Splutter.Vikram wrote:Moin and AK27, Thank you for your replies.

Re: My New EDC Pen_Zebra F-701 Stainless Steel...
Moin,
That is a Keltec P32. It one of a class of weapons that are generally called mouse guns. These are small handguns that will fit in your pocket and usually shoot a small caliber, low powered round. The P32 chambers and fires the .32 ACP round. The original link that I posted went to Oleg's blog. This link will take you to the Keltec website.
Yes, the gentleman smiling at the dinky little pistol is none other than Massad Ayoob.
I was just trying to inject some variety and humor into the post.
I want to make one thing clear. I am not putting anyone down for using a Kubotan.
If they want to use a Kubotan or a wet noodle, that's up to them.
How a person chooses to defend themselves is none of my business or anyone else's .
Also what I meant to say originally and forgot to was; that is a very nice looking pen.
