Haven't you asked this question several times already, and received several replies already? I thought you decided to purchase an IHP in 5.5.
Bottom line:
.177 - Longer range, accepted in rifle clubs, cheaper pellets, can be used for pest control if you can hit the rat at a correct spot.
.22 - More powerful in delivering force on impact, will not be allowed in rifle clubs, can be used for pest control if you can hit the rat at a correct spot - may not have to be as accurate as .177.
If you ask the same question at multiple places in the same forum, people who've answered you the first time around will feel their contribution is useless.
Also, you've brought back an old thread to life - did you read through it and see if your answer wasn't already there?
.22 or .177 - both will be just as fine. If you have no desire whatsoever in using the rifle at a club, go for either. If joining a rifle club is important, get the .177.
Regards,
Sriram

Dear Harsh Vardhan,
You have been asking the same question for the last fifteen days through different threads of this forum.
It seems that you are not serious about purchasing any Air Rifle, but just throwing questions here and there.
Our senior members who are expert at air rifle shooting have already given you their precious pieces of advice which are more than sufficient in taking a final decision.
Regards,
Abbas

Yes, but only for crows & rats. You can also protect crops from wild boar and blue bull if you have the necessary permission taken in advance.srkhan wrote:pest control is allow in INDIA?

He is either a TROLL or ***edited - moderator*** . He has been explained but probably does not even bother to check the replies.

You are not going to get 65-85 metres effective range from the best of air rifles, not Weihrauch 77 or Air ArmsTX-200 or something else, for all practical purposes.Forget local made air pistols. The max range is about 30-35 metres with the best of them that too when you factor in the above average shooter's ability.Mehboobgunshotter wrote:Sir I wanted to know just about Air Rifles Model Names which gives 65-80mts, Long range..,pratik_mahale wrote:one more same questionBut can any one Share their Experience Upon Air Rifles Model Names which gives 65-80mts, Long range Accurate Shooting as Well Pest control at Farm House..,

You need to keep realistic expectations for yourself and your equipment. That would only come when you clearly understand the equipment and the intended purpose. You need to understand that even legal and authorised pest control involves certain humane and ethical considerations to the animals and involves a good bit of practice and suitable equipment on your part. There is enough material available on this forum. Please try to read as much as possible by using the search function.
Best-
Vikram

If you find an indoor location that's 65-80m, that'll be an achievement by itself
Outdoors, beyond 30 or so meters, wind will play a big factor. Air rifles wouldn't be able to fire with an FPS high enough, or a caliber heavy enough to overcome the wind, and also be legal to purchase in India (Pick any one). You're better off getting a firearm after getting a license
