Remember the Heroes

Post by moulindu » Sat Oct 20, 2012 9:18 pm

Hi guys
Today its 20th October, marks 50 years since the 1962 conflict with China. That war claimed the lives of 5,000 Indian soldiers. For the first time, an Indian Defence Minister along with the top military brass of the country paid homage to the martyrs. Defense Minister AK Antony and the three service Chiefs laid wreaths at the Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate.
Thanks

The only substantial memorial to our warriors was built by our erstwhile British masters - says a lot about how our nation regards those that lay down their lives for the country!

Cheers!

Thanks for posting it..

I agree with Abhijeet as the recent riot in Mumbai showed parties and their political goons destroying the "mumbai amar jawan" and my blood was boiling just by looking at those snaps.
Good that our Govt at least remembered our War heroes after such a long time and ignorance.
