Only thou, Sir Robert, wieldest the long sword of taming!!! Thine enemies scatter yonder to the seven winds and their substance is thine plunder!!!
.
I was kinda serious about the broadsword.Oh well....perhaps a machete is most practical. It is agricultural after all.

Always wanted a genuine Assegai just for the heck of it. It isn't much of a slasher or brush clearer though.winnie_the_pooh wrote:Mack,if you have to rely upon something sharp for self preservation, you will be better served by a short spear.
Will change my name to Shaka Zulu after I get it.

Re: The Bark River Golok.
I don't know if that is Vikram in that photo but the guy in the kilt beside him looks decidedly nervous.
That is a huge blade, Mack!
Like Moin, I was hoping to see the Junglas comparison too.
If you hack some stuff up, please take photos so we can see its effects too.

Re: The Bark River Golok.
In the absence of a Junglas here are couple of pics that should give some idea of size.
Pic. # 1: Compared to a Swiss Army Champ and a Izula-II.
Pic. # 2: Compared to a 4.5" bladed Aurora (top) and a 6.25" bladed Magnum Fox River (below)

Thanks Mack, it's now easier to guage the size of the monster blade given the comparison pic next to the Izula II.

Moin, the Izula-II was added with you and Slingshot in mind.
If the current owner of the Junglas brings it to Bangalore in November/December, I will take the pics you want.

You may also like to practice this warrior chant, for I heard the assegai is ineffective without a proper rendition before putting up a charge.

Seriously, a short spear in a confined spaces is not a bad idea at all. I have seen on the Greatest Warrior show how effective and versatile this weapon is.
But again, potent as it is, it has little chance against the Highland Claymore. What, you don't trust me? Watch this.

XL,
That was I in that pic.Took at a shop that specialises in these stuff, right in front of the Edinburgh castle. That is supposedly similar to William Wallace's Claymore. And the bloke next to me had a strong reason to be nervous. LOL.
The price of allowing me to pose with that monster was a little contribution to the solders' welfare fund!

I wish I could oblige you,Moin. But, my face with my war-look on is not for little girls.I don't want you to wet yourself and wake up with nightmares in the nights. That's the considerate me. I will try to find a suitably peaceable one.Moin. wrote: Abolsutely Vikram, Claymore's for real men, not little girls afraid to show their faces Careful that"s a big blade, you just might cut yourself Real Men post their pics in my thread.
