Mack, Slingshot,Rajat;
Two very interesting products specially the Izula Folder in D2 and framelock and the Izula in Damascus. Have any info on these two. The folder's particularly very very interesting.

Moin,
Rowen Engineering have bought the machinery to make the folders but it will be 2013, at the earliest, before they go on sale.
The Damascus Izula is expected later this year. This was a custom order from Blue Ridge Knives who are one of the big wholesalers and distributors in the U.S..

Thanks Mack, the folder sounds very interesting. Given the Esee Brand name, D2 steel, framelock, guess this would be priced will over USD 125, 130 Range. Any feelers from any of the forums.Mack The Knife wrote:Moin,

What is the damascus made up of, any ideas. I'm sure given that it's an Esee, these are not just show pieces.
Thanks

Re: Just for giggles...
Moin, no idea what the folder will cost. My guess is $150.00 tops.
The Izula Damascus steel will be as follows:
3 layers of 52100, 4 layers of 5160, 3 layers of 203E and 3 layers of 15N20 steels. The billet is folded 5 times which results in a total of 416 layers.
I will definitely be using mine.

Thanks, going by the post, assuming you've already pre booked the Damascus Izula .. Wonderful, look forward to your review. I'm quite curious to know how modern pattern welded damascus will perform on a user blade.Mack The Knife wrote:Moin, no idea what the folder will cost. My guess is $150.00 tops.
