From the photos I have seen, almost none of the knife aficionados on IFG seem to be fit enough or ruthless enough, to push home a knife attack with the same speed and ferocity as the 'trained' recruits in the video above.Me thinks that they stand a poor chance against a desi katta. No offense meant,of course

While in the video, the fellow with the knife has it drawn and the fellow with the gun has to draw it from a holster,in real life, the roles are going to be reversed. If you visualize a self defence situation in which you are armed with a knife and are faced with a fellow armed with a gun which is pointing at you,I do not think that you will even twitch a muscle.

Not having the temperament to get into a knife fight is no different than not having the temperament to pull the trigger. I am sure and I am very happy to be sure, that none of the gun enthusiasts on this forum may be ruthless enough to pull the trigger on another human being. But we all train very hard to ingrain all our responses into muscle memory so that, in case....just in case, there is no recourse, we may have to respond in defence. Training with knives is no different than training with any other weapon in ideology. To ingrain our response to muscle memory, be good citizens, defend ourselves, be responsible, experience the knife as an extension of our arm and stay alert.

Knife v/s firearm has been debated for many years. Even though The old saying, 'do not bring a knife to a gun fight' exists, The Teuller Drill, however does have merit. I am not going to debate this on the forum as it has been debated for years. Even if there is...18 feet between knife attacker and gunman...the knife is a rather formidable opponent to the pistol in a determined attack, revolver etc. Add concealed carry and maybe a safety release on the firearm and the firearm gets even more hampered. The SIG and Glock are preferred carry since they do not have a safety.

Winnie not a fair comparison, how many handgun enthusiast in IFG will be able to shoot a handgun as accurately as these trained police commandoes ? That is draw a pistol, safety off, cock the hammer (assuming SA Pistol/revolver) pull the trigger and then shoot to stop a perp.

How many IFG handgun enthusiasts practice this enough with their handgun (Including shooting :) Considering cost of Ammo, availability, quota etc. Can our Cops shoot as accurately as say a Black Cat from the 51 or 52 SAG of the NSG.

Yes but given a typical Dodo Pistol Shooter vs a typical Dodo Knife Enthusiats from IFG, the Bang Bang Hand Cannon should blow a hole by a large margin :) I will honestly be mortally scared of even entering into an argument with someone with a handgun.

As far as the photos of the IFG knife enthusiasts are concerned, fit or not, atleast have the courage the post their pics

Never underestimate your opponent nor his/her will to survive or determination to attack. What he or she hold in their hand/s is secondary.

two police officers been stubbed at night in Himachal recently ( been on news), they stopped maruty alto and two men walk from the car and stubbed both of them, not sure if anyone survived. Take your friend and measure distance from were he can launch "knife" attack on you and see what you can do with your gun.

The 315 makes an excellent club. Relying on the KF ammo would be akin to a game of Russian Roulette.

So far it has gone bang every time I have pulled the trigger with a round in the chamber.

Winnie- a .32 to the body at ten feet or less will tickle rather hard don't you think? A knife in the hand of a determined man is about as difficult to fend off as a crazed cobra. You need cloth to counter him, preferably a leather jacket. The knife hand itself is very difficult to track and arrest even with training.
I would rather hit my target gently than miss hard.
