Moin, in my case...there is a very fine line between looking like a complete idiot and fishing :D ....and I try to bridge the gap. As angling gurus on the knife thread (i am a novice), will testify, one of the easiest way to allay all fears of villagers, is to display a fishing rod. They cant stop grinning, laughing and generally having a good time. They think we are complete idiots. We seem to enjoy the fierce sun or the rain...and trying to entice a fish with a rod, bait or lures in the effing sea...as if the fish has no other food. They even point us to the best spots :D ...and there is no dearth of hooting when a depressed angler comes back empty handed

Moin, you are always welcome. I usually go with couple of obsessed old salts, who dream of fighting giant Mahaseer or massive Barramundi. Next time will give you a shout. Even if we catch nothing, the stories around the camp fire are reward enough :)

Well since not everyone responded, I'll steal one of Baljit's photos and post one of Kalyan sahib.
