HI,
There are no side lever IHP in springers, all are break barrel at list presently available in market. most dealers are not keeping side lever or under lever as they are prone to injure fingers while loading I got this feed back while I was inquiring for air gun in Mumbai. you may get under lever Imported from local dealers but they are very costly. for your budget and if you change preference for type of lever, then you can go for following.
1)IHP 35 .177cal or .22cal
2)IHP25 .177cal or .22cal
3)new SX100 .177cal (new in to market just under 10000/- assumed very good compared to Local air guns, now low in supply you may have to wait longer time check this site http://preciholesports.com/)

check this site below. all air guns are below Rs.6000/- . you can order online and it will get home delivered in nice wooden package. check vendors feed back on yellow pages. you may have to bare octroi + taxes over original airgun price. at Mumbai total octroi+tax was Rs.1213/- still cost was at par with local dealers.

Milind,
price is almost double for side lever, but it will give u excellent comfort while shooting long sessions, and this same rifle with out peep sight cost u 7000 plus taxes. Why dont u consider it, as all break barrels are open sight only, this may cost you 3-4 thousands more.

Hi Milind,

we are taking about two different kind of air rifle, I am talking about spring rifles and soumithra is saying about pneumatic ones ,
0.177 Pneumatic Air Rifle (Open Sight) will cost you Rs. 7000.00+ tax mentioned below + Packing & Forwarding.

1) Central Excise Duty @ 12% + 2% Education Cess + 1% H&S Education Cess will be extra.
2)VAT @12.5% + 2.5% Add. Tax will be extra.
3)Central Sales Tax @ 12.5% + 2.5% and against "C" form only 2% will be charged.

will be just over Rs.10000/- But check peoples feed back first before buying any rifle.

Hi Milind,

You can go for Tommy Side Lever by Tom Industries Kolkata... please check with them if they are still manufacturing this model, contact details are there in yellow pages section...

And if you are interested in under lever... you can go for New Light Art Work's .22 Under Lever but it has a plain bore... I think it would be easily available in Maharashtra... Tommy and New Light Art Work both would cost around 4000-5000/-

With Regards

Suraj.

Dear friends u_vaste , Saumitra and Suraj,
Thank you for all your valuable inputs. I have 2 airguns (UTA 35 and IHP 35 both .22). I want side lever because I want to experience some variation in my collection. I am looking for low cost version because I want to do some experiments with it (changing stock, spring, piston etc).
Regards
Milind

Hi Milind
I have seen side levers, U/L air rifles of Tommy and Aimco,

I am a proud owner of 3 AR's all in 22 cal

Canon LG 150 , Arco model 35, and a Chinese Side lever (make Unknown)
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19895
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19887
http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=19819

I am in love with all 3 of them,,,
Its different to own a weapon which is apart from others
My experience with all my AR's is good,,,their range , their looks and on top ,their feel,, is captivating
Although my LG 150 and Arco 35 are quite old and heavy,as compared to other break barrels,,but the volume of power they have is great ,,, and they command respect ...

I am not sure about the range and fire power of these new side lever and U/L's,,,, but my oldies definitely put me, above the rest
tommy S/L is available for rs 6k-7k @ lucknow, and U/L's are almost in the same price range,,,,but the best part is that ,in Lucknow , one might find old AR's too, at a very less price ,and they just require a bit of tuning and cleaning,,,,

All the best for your new buy

regards
