Hi Winnie;winnie_the_pooh wrote:Why not just epoxy the nut/s to the scale?Moin. wrote:Since the bit went through and through one of the holes have to find a fix for it.
I have ctaually though of three different solutions, have to figure out which one to proceed with. The bit going through is one of the problems and since I used a hand held power drill the location of the screw holes is a bit off, by less than an mm causing the scales to not align perfectly with the handle.
1) Is to run a large bit through and through the scales, epoxy a brass liner to the handle. The wood will have the large hole for the screw heads and nut and the liner the smaller hole for the screw shaft. Should work and the brass liner will look very beautiful with the white oak and the black coating I retained at the handle.
2) Is to drill a large bit through and through and fill it with Epoxy mixed with Sawdust or even Mseal,, clamp the handle to the scale and use the existing holes in the handle as a guide to run a bit through for the screw shafts so the scales are perfectly aligned with the handle.
3) Epoxy a wooden dowel in the damaged hole and use an awl and manual power drill to do it correctly this time.
Pondering over this, let's see what works...

My Zombie whacker's finally done sans a leather sheath which I want to attempt. Forced patina done, edge convexed using sandpaper mousepad method, stropped with black and green compound, lanyard done.
The lanyards made out of leather shoelace, an old skull keychain which I drilled two holes into for the lace to pass, few nuts and a rudraksh.
Hope you gents like

Honestly this does'nt hold a candle to what that is, this is just a regular mid range production blade and that is as impossible a find as El Dorado. That blade is worth it's weight in gold

Thank you Suraj. This is an El Cheapo Plastic Keychain that I got from a road side vendor. I took out the chain and ring, drilled two holes for the lanyard to pass through and viola !!surajshuresh wrote:Hi Moin sweet knife you got there mate...good work... I love the skull where did you get it???

Moin - OVERWHELMED, bro !!! But still smiled broadly at the combo of "nuts, rudraksh, and skull"
Will settle for the mochi's shoelace option after looking at the length and the price of paracords on oliveplanet.
