Any amateur radio operators here on the forum? It would be fun to try and have a contact with India, but it appears that you are limited to 25 watts? So I suspect if it would happen we would have to try CW on 15 meters?
Anyway, any other radio operators please chime in!

Hi Mark,
I am Shankar,(VU2CAP) from Bangalore and was active on all the bands and have a DXCC , mixed.
Keen on satellite and I think you know the Amsat India is based in Bangalore and a couple of years
back ISRO launched HAMSAT. The second one is in planning stage in a higher orbit. The first one
is a LEO and two windows everyday.
I have an advanced grade and we have limitations on power at around 1Kw. No one bothers much
about it though. We have in south India quite a few repeaters (VHF)on high locations and hams are
very active on the nets which is on every morning and late evenings.
Bangalore was the first in India to have two repeaters and we are planning on a UHF duplexer for
a VX500R. Will again be a first. I belong to a group which was founded 25 years ago called
The Repeater Society of Bangalore (VU2RSB), and (VU2TWO) and was involved in setting up both.
Coming to HF bands, I dismantled my 75foot tower with a 6 element all band CD yagi a couple
of years go and gave it to VU2LBW who is on RTTY. My friend VU2ZAP is still active and if you
want a sked , I shall speak to him. I woun't know the band conditions now but about 10 years
ago I used to shell peas on 15 and 10 mts, both my favorite bands .
Good to know you are here on his forum, 73's........Shankar
