In your opinion, The Best Machine gun made...?

Post by Skyman » Wed Sep 12, 2012 7:46 pm

Hello,

In your opinion what is the best and most effective machine gun made? Nothing fancy, should be battle proven.

I vote Mg42 " The Buzz Saw " as best MMG, And the Browning .50 cal as the best HMG.

Thanks.

Effective? The M 134 Minigun without a doubt.

Heavy Machine Gun:
M2 Browning
Image
It was adopted in the 1920's and has been in use continuously since then. It is still the primary heavy machine gun for NATO countries. It has been in continuous service longer than any other small arm in the US inventory (except maybe the 1911 pistol).

LMG/SAW:
Contenders here would be:

the BAR (in US service from 1918 through the Korean war)

Image
the BREN (in UK service from the 1930's through 1991)

Image
RPK (in service with Russia and their allies from 1961 to the present).

Nice choices. For some reason, i don't see any one trying to top the M2 any time soon.It has been the big daddy a long while, and is just too good to be dethroned.

MG42(allies were de-moralised by this german hotshot during ww2), fn minimi, klashnikov pkm, fn-mag, browning m2 .50cal.
and list goes on. majority of machine guns are battle proven. all have the same function and they do it nicely.
I don't care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting.

I like the 1919, as long as it is set up properly it just keeps chugging along.
Here is mine on an HK tripod :D

The Best Machine Gun Ever-the ones made for 'hindi fillums'....never jams, never overheats, unlimited ammo, impervious to dust/debris/mud/water not to mention the collective stupidity of the producer, the director and the entire cast and crew, and of course our 'know all' viewers, can use all calibers....wait ! What is 'caliber!!?' Furthermore these don't need any maintainence,oiling/greasing,ejection ports, bolts, barrel sleeves, can be fired one handed /two handed and is also 'remote operated' when mounted on the walls . Can be mounted on all platforms- vehicles(all) , aircrafts, horses, boats etc. Weighs about a KG max. Is 'woman friendly' if the said woman is patriotic. Available in all colors. Additionally they are smart guns i.e. They simply refuse to hit the hero of the fillum but may hit his best friend, father(especially if the said father is a police inspector) and yet in the hands of the hero it is capable of decimating entire hosts serving the villian with nonchalant precision.
Manufacturer -various/none/gun machine industries limited.
Range- varied(depends on who is using it)
Weight-meh!
Caliber- Oh,for chrissakes! what the F#*@ is caliber?!!!
Rifling- Goddamn you, you &/¥¿! It's a machinegun!
Feed-unknown
Magazine capacity-N/A(known to run out of ammo if used by anyone other than the hero)
Muzzle Velocity- all cities , villages, underground bunkers, underwater bunkers, deserts and erstwhile royal palaces!
Used by- primarily by corrupt politicians and their cohorts occasionally by eminent military leaders such as General Dang, General Rizwi,Padosi Mulk,Major Saab, assorted anglo indians/foriegn imports forced to play the 'cruel angrez'
In service dates- At the discretion of the director/producer -but has to be after 1857 'swatantra ki ladhai'. See we have an effective education system..till primary school, at least!

Hello Stormwerkz,
That's an interesting toy you own out there. What kind of a sighting device do you have mounted on your gun?
