BTW the Buck Mayo Kaala seems to be a nice knife made out of S30V steel and with a nice clean design.

I was looking at the picture and it seems you will not be able to add any scales to this knife if you intend to use the same sheath.

Else it will look beautiful with a custom sheath and scales.

Did you think of cord wrapping the handle?

Having said this I personally do not like cord wrapped handles. The grip is good but it will be very difficult to clean it after it is dirty, which pretty soon it will be if you intend to use it frequently.

Yup. It wont take a scales or cordwrap and stay in the same sheath unless you leave the first hole uncovered. The sheath is pretty bad from what I can see. I like the knife and I like the PRICE. Good for an s30v blade IMHO. It will need scales and a sheath. I dislike cordwrap as well. It looks nice but can be very inconvenient for actual utility. Thats why I waited for the zytel scales to become available before I threw down for the BK14.

The countersink dewalt bit's really intersting, wonder if it will be available, will have to hunt the bylanes of Nagdevi and lohar chawl. Looked for these stepped drill bits (not sure if these will be availble in T4 to T10 Torx sizes) fter trying do a countersunk holes and the bits went right through and through on a scale i was trying to do.. Any ideas ? Probably a manual drill will give better control than a power drill.

These are available. I am sure you will find these easily. Also be on the lookout for Bosch.

This is the toughest part but only until you have figured out a way to do it. The holes on my handles were later done with a fixed power drill. Offers more control.

Manual drills work but since these work on a relatively very low RPM there will be chances of the wood chipping off around the hole if you are not careful.
