Israeli small arms
Recently came across this video about Israeli small arms that I thought forum members would enjoy.
They cover most of the well known rifles including the Tavor.

Re: Israeli small arms
dear XL, thanks for yet another interesting post. Just now completed watching the video. It was knowledgeable.
So, is the Tavor their standard national weapon? It is compact and lightweight though. Good one.
This reminds me about Israel's another own production: "merkava".
Thanks again XL : )

Speechless .......... some of their farmers are better than most of soldiers. Smart moves under tough demands that lead to their survival otherwise they would have been eaten up long time ago.

Good 1.
Also, the tavor rifle is used by Indian paratroopers along with the INSAS EXCALIBUR - The full auto variant to the standard INSAS.
GALIL is too used by our forces, they are good weapons.
also to note that the TAVOR is named as zittara carbine in India...
Good work XL. keep posting and enlightening all gun enthusiasts in the forum.

I don't care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting.

GALIL in India never saw a picture before what is with Indian special forces that they have a khichdi of guns cant they standardize them a bit. Travor per my conversation with Israeli chap isnt fully embraced by their own defense forces.
Agreed Israelis are smart chaps but very abrasive and aggressive personalities and come across as arrogant one needs a thick skin to work with them and they dont suffer fools easily

Re: Israeli small arms
Sure its from the '80's but I don't believe all that much has changed. The Tavor is being adopted but at a slower pace. I believe the goal was for it to become the standard infantry weapon for the IDF. Still, there are a lot of weapons that have life left in them that are still being used. I know large quantities of those Israeli FAL's came into the US some years ago after being surplused by the IDF.I was expecting to see some weapons that's just eighties - Haji
Meow. Baljit and INSAS556, you're welcome.
