Back Yard Buck

Post by Corjack » Wed Aug 22, 2012 7:36 pm

Been dry here this year. The neighbors cattle have eaten the browse down to the dirt. I hired a fellow to bush hog down the weeds and brush, and then got a couple small rains that greened things up nicely. Last night had seven deer in my main field, but could not get the camera on them quick enough. This morning when I let the wee dogs out, this little buck hung around for a nice video.

Decent size buck even though he is only a four pointer.
Are you getting worked up for Deer season this year?
Thanks for posting that video. Enjoyed it.

That was a cool video, Corjack. Lucky to have such landscape and animals in your backyard. Probably the dogs caught its attention. I could hear the dog shaking itself. :D

Oh yea! I am ready. Been home for four days trying to get a food plot in, hopefully have it done in the next week or so. Have to work the opening weekend of rifle season. But will try and take one early on with a crossbow.

Nice video.
How far was he? 50 yards?
You really don't have to make much of an effort for this year's hunt.
Just sit in your backyard reading a book, the rifle by your side......and when a nice one comes go "bang". :D
