Today I brought Master Shot .177 pellets (Yellow Box) for 250/- from M/s. BANSONS

Now the result of Master Shot Pellets

Normal reading without Pellet seating

660,666,666,663,673 Avg is 665 fps

Reading Using stereo Jack as a Pellet seating

718,719,703 Avg is 713 fps

Deep Pellet seating about 5 to 7 mm using screw driver

714,717,716,721,711,716 Avg is 715 fps

Increase in velocity is about 50 fps but not much variation in velocity in both the case

What is the weight of Master Shot .177 pellets (Yellow Box)

I have not brought Gsmith Pellets can somebody give me some pellets for testing?

Dear Pratik,
I think I happen to see some where that Mastershot Flat head pellet weigh 7.9 grns and Gsmith Amateur 8.2 grns.
Your gun is showing nice consistancy in terms of FPS.
It proved that pellet seater comes in play for indian pellets.
This gun produces good power too.
Happy Shooting.

Facing some really a weird problem

I was using master shot yellow box pellets at 10 Meter & using stereo Jack as a Pellet setter getting good grouping with pellet setter so after few shoot I put the target at 20 Yards but group was opening very much more then 1 ½ inches so I took a break of 10 minutes but same results & same thing was happened yesterday also so I became very frustrated.

Just for the curiosity I shot next few pellets without using pellet setter & I shoot a group around 2 cm but all pellets shoot little bit low as the velocity reduced by 25 to 30 fps. I shoot two more groups of 5 pellets each & each time grouping was around 2 cm.

So I use pellets setter again but again grouping was open

One more thing I get good grouping at 10 Meter with pellet setter compare to normally pushing the pellets

Really confuse as with short range pellets setter works very good but not for long range :? :? :?

I have tested shots with pellet seater in National-25 and
the observations are as under ;
MS flat head------------ no increase in velocity
GS competition--------30 FPS increase

My gun has 7500 shots old spring.
MS seats in the breech without much lateral pressure since
further grinding is done at breech to reduce resistance.
There is no air leakage found with MS in barrel.
When I used the pellet seater for MS the resistance is as
similar as pushing the pellet from 0.5 cm to 1.00 cm.

GS seats in the breech with higher lateral pressure, when I
used the seater , it gave quite a good resistance, palpable
in hand.Once it is 0.5 cm inside the barrel , further pushing
the pellet , did not require much pressure.

Conclusion :
Pellet pusher helps to nutralize the initial resistance offered
by pellet due to its shape at breech. This helps the potential
energy to convert quickly into kinetic, thus give more power.
In case of MS , since the resistance was minimal so there was
no any increase in power.
On the contary, GS offered much higher resistance at breech
and pellet pusher nutralized that, so there was an increase
in velocity.

In high power guns, pellet pusher does not have any impact towards velocity as that much resistance is easily taken care by the gun.

Wish to have other point of view.

Dear Pratik,
Your observations, no way different then me.
Thin skirt pellets tend to exert less lateral pressure in barrel and so it take the shape of bore earlier then heavy skirt. So as a result less air can leak through bore, translating in gain of additional FPS.
We often blame gun for less FPS where as pellets has a big roll to play.
