Taking part in National Shooting Championship Competition.

Post by jk » Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:24 pm

How can one participate in National Shooting Championship, All India Mavlankar shooting competitions or any National recogonised competition. I understand one can take part by qualifying in the All India Mavlankar shooting competitions, representing your state association, to go on to participate in the NSCC. But I don't think Orissa has State Rifle Association, only two NRAI affliated clubs are there, if any one knows about Orissa Rifle Association or similar Association then please let me know. What do one do if a particular state doesn't have State Rifle Association.

To goto the Mavlankar, you will have to send out this form from your state unit. I think that the NRAI affiliated club that you mentioned will do.

You can download the form here: http://www.indianshooting.com/images/st ... vmform.pdf

Get this filled, call up or email NRAI on below contact and follow up.
NRAI HOUSE

Phone: 91-11-29964090, 29964091, 29964093

(Mods, I am thinking this information can remain as a general one, and have not posted it as a PM. This information, however, is also available online at NRAI website.)

Another alternative is to become a member of NRAI directly and give an entry irrespective of state representation. To become a member: http://www.nrai.in/membershipform.html

Lest I miss out, the minumum qualification score (MQS) is to ensure that shooters of the right calibre compete against each other. Check for MQS with NRAI, for relevant matches. They may even impose a ban if the MQS is not achieved in the Mavlankar...

Thanks TenX. I tried with the affliated Clubs, they were not really enthusiastic about the participation. There only reply was get a NRAI membership and see. But to get a NRAI membership I think you need a proposer, seconder and an endorser. I don't think I will be able to arrange all three. Can anybody help.

I am sure we have NRAI members on this forum who can help you with propose/second/endorsing...
Do you think that you can also develop some contacts of NRAI members thru other state clubs around you?

You need only 2 signatures from existing members on your NRAI application - I can offer to sign from my side, condition being you extend the same kindness to other newcomers as & when requested... let me know...

Cheers!

Hi JK (Can we have your full name please)

I have received NRAI memebrship recently after having lost my form in 3 other tries in past for signature :)

I would be happy to sign your form. I tried query club at BBSR when I was there and the story was the same.

But they can not stop you participating and they existance is for shooting :)

Please do PM me if you need the signature so we can discuss address etc.

Welcome and all the best

Hemendra Singh
PS: Abhijeet's Rule is real favourable ! Apreciate that :)
