Am i too old to start?

The main thing in my opinion is if you decide to do it, please do not do it half assed but have it be a part of your being and truly work hard and make a part of your life. And much to your surprise, at some point you will find yourself excelling among your peers and wondering "how in the heck did I get way up here!?"

P.S. : I am 43 something and shooting with a vintage 10mtr Air rifle. I am sneered at and told I don't have a chance to make it big. I just don't listen...because my air rifle can shoot in the 10 ring on her own all day long...Its just that I can't do it all the time....so I shut out the nay sayers and concentrate on shooting as many tens as I can...........

hi guys, this is my first post on IFG , i plan to be a regular member and contribute in whatever way i can.

I'm 21 right now and i have one more year before i complete my engineering ,i recently shot at a 10m air rifle range and absolutely loved it ! , I talked to my dad about it and he was very enthusiastic about me getting into the sport, as he himself was a state level shooter during his college days. I have already applied for the Karnataka state rifle shooting association and should be a member in about 2 weeks time. I am willing to give it my all and put in the time and the effort required to perform to my potential and hopefully reach the national stage .Is this a realistic dream ? Am i too late ? I'm asking because every year at international shooting events ,i see younger and younger participants. Money is not an issue, my parents fully support my decision and my dad is asking me to start off with good equipment (walther lg400,anshutz,feinwerkbau etc.) and is completely against IHP (no offense to IHP users). I would really appreciate it if you guys could weight in with your opinions .

P.S - i have already read most of the threads on beginner tips,starting rifles,importing etc.. so i would mainly like an answer to the above stated question.

hey buddy...some of the aspirant shooters in the world are very old aged people. u know who is world no.2 in skeet shooting &his age? Search google and u get the answer.....

it never late..last week I joined rifle shootimng lub and today was my first day at range...I am 25 years of age and want to make it big..all because I know deeo inside that i will be able to do it.so listen to your heart ..and thats it. infcat I envy you, as i would have loved to start it as early as your age...all the best.

Thank you guys!. I really appreciate all the replies. I now realize after going through the comments and the ISSF roster that i'm still pretty young . I think i should stop worrying about everything else and just enjoy my shooting . I just wanted to get this out of the way before i start, that's all.
