S.K if there is no serial no on the barrel then there is a good chance that you have been sold a copy of the original. Attached are mine IHP bought from AIMCO. https://picasaweb.google.com/1066356202 ... 9316555538 https://picasaweb.google.com/1066356202 ... 0006604594.
How much did you pay for your piece??? An IHP in local market would surely be above 5000/- as the dealer will try to make their profit. It's always good to go for a google shopping prior to buying anything new :) especially when getting some thing you don't have much knowledge about. Here's the dealer list from IHP website.http://www.indianhumepipe.com/Products/ ... sList.aspx.
As for dealing with your defaulter "shop owner" If you have any proof that he has sold that particular riffle stating it to be original one, you can take it back & ask him to replace it with an original one or refund of the amount, any how if this does not works out & if you have not paid a very heavy penalty (even the good quality local ones & other brand riffles are above 3k now days) of making a wrong choice or the air riffle you got is fairly accurate & powerful then keep practicing with the same & get an IHP later on. I would suggest you to order online thru Aimco as they are one of the reputed dealers & alot of the forum members including me got their IHPs from them.
Also do provide an introduction about your self in the introduction section it would help you to get connected with many experienced people in this forum.

The air gun they are now supplying for last few years is the deluxe model only.

Previously, there used to be a peep sight mounted, and the rifle was called IHP 35 as given on their website.

I have requested them to remove this model from site, since it confuses every new buyer.

i was going through the same problem in Mumbai... Gun dealers were charging as high as 8000 for 35 .22 and i also spoke to mr makhija and he advised me the same thing that it will cost around 5500 so i bought mine from aimco... i paid 7500 for the following
1) IHP 35 .22 rifle
2) rifle cover
3) mastershot pellets 10 boxes
4) targets
all of this for 7500 including freight and octroi... so i guess u should consider the same
ps get the gun oil too i forgot that and also more pellets

Mine got delivered today and I am loving every bit of it!!!

Have replied to your PM. Did you purchase .22 cal with competitive shooting in mind ? Hope you have read through the information on this forum. Only .177 cal is allowed inside most ranges in India and you can use the Open Sight only in limited and Limited competitions e.g. PTKS' Parle Mahotsav or Savarkar's Lakshyavedh or MH hinterland local competitions like at Ahmednagar or Aurangabad. All the air competitions are conducted with .177 cal. BTW how about posting introduction in that section ? Good Luck and safe shooting.

Thanks airgun_novice i received the PM
Yeh i bought the .22 cal as of now but its just for regular practice at my home...
For the competitive shooting i might consider buying the new AR thats being discussed by you as and when it is available... i hope that would be a sufficient purchase for competitions... i bot the .22 cause i dint want to spend too much over a gun while i am still a novice so it was just to get a general idea about the working of it also i couldnt find a .177 IHP anywhere in mumbai so finally i went for .22.

Anish.

Hi all, I'm Parag from BBSR. I want to purchase the IHP .177 PCP Air Pistol. When called the factory number, they say it will take 2-3 months to deliver. Pls advice if it is a normal waiting period? Any alternative to the make I'm referring to in India that could be achieved faster?
