Strange-looking creature caught in a trap

Post by nagarifle » Sat Jul 21, 2012 6:59 am

Photograph of creature that resembled a human child, caught in an animal trap set up by a villager in Peren district gripped people even at Dimapur as rumour mills worked over time when some began to recall tribal folklore of forest spirit or even wild guesses that it could possibly even be the ‘missing-link’ of human evolution.

The photo circulated was of a creature or primate which died after it was caught in a trap laid by a villager, who then sells such animals to make a living.

After making several inquiries, Nagaland Post team traveled to a place in Peren district, to locate the village where the trapper lives. The journey led to the village deep in Peren district.

I do hope there is some truth to it being a strange creature, unlike the following :

Wow that is amazing. Really looks like the missing link. Hope they can test it before, the body is destroyed. And if that is you ET...please go home.

That was my first impression too. You would think a newspaper guy would consult a biologist before going on a wild goose chase to nowhere.
Missing Link, Forest Spirits...hmmph! Where do some of these reporters go to school?

The clean shaven look lead to some confusion, cause I always thought the female langurs didn't have a problem with body hair :)
