Panther Takes little Girl

Three days back a panther took a little girl from atop a pipeline, people real angry about it & they want revenge..kill the leopards. Feel sorry for the girl but whose fault is it... why do you have to ignore the warnings, why do you have to invade their space. its the people & the govt both to blame, how do builders make big expensive societies in national park & why they get permission by govt to do so, why hutments are creeping into national parks. I say rampant corruption & ignorance is the cause of the little girls death so why blame the leopard. I go every morning to SNGP cycling......its heaven!! but i see a lot of walkers not adhering to jungle rules & then crying foul when things go wrong. its a pity to see SNGP depleting so fast.....not long before it just will be in the memories. Thanks to ignorance & corruption.

The little girl lived in the slums which that have encroached inside the BNP area with the blessings of the politicians. Its a known problem. Nothing will be done about it.....

BNHS conducts leopard awareness campaigns in these slums and try and educate the slum dwellers to maintain distance between them and the wildlife.....to no avail.....

May her soul RIP.
