Re: Suggest Suitable Pellets for IHP .22 & AK SUPER 350
Hi Guys,
> The question of which is the best "SUITABLE PELLET" for IHP, AK Super 350 or whatever make one can think of is a "NEVER ENDING DEBATE"....
> The reasons are:
1. All German made or copies of German made Air Rifles follow the "Metric" system for their measurements (millimetres / centimetres etc.)
2. While all British made Air Rifles follow the British system for their measurement (inches / feet etc.)
> That's why German make ARs mention their calbres as 5.5mm (for 0.22 which is a universal term for this calibre)
> Hence when you convert the British 0.22cal in terms of mm it is equal to 5.56mm
> So the difference between German & British make is 0.01mm (British make AR breech is 0.01mm larger than the German make breech)
> Although this 0.01mm may appear small it is sufficient enough to determine the proper fitment of pellets, because we do not know what size does the pellet manufaturer follow while making pellets. Are they 5.5mm or 5.56mm?
> Lastly Indian manufacturers of pellets may not have the proper & precise 'die' - incidentally 'dies' have a life, beyond which the 'die' has to be re-made. But who cares - the same 'die' will be flogged for millions of pellets.
> Hence dimensional variations take place - resulting in all sorts of fitment problems.
> The question is "What is the breech size" of your Air Rifle, 5.5mm or 5.56mm?????
> The answer is "TRY ALL AVAILABLE PELLET" in the market - See which one suits your particular Air Rifle & STICK TO IT"!
> The above spiel is good for Plinkers / Sports Shooters - But if you are a serious Match Shooter who looks for 'hole in hole' grouping then, you better settle for those expensive Imported Brands. There are several - It's your call

Nice brief Brihaji.. Yes i did test available pellets and now sticks to DIANA which gives me nice grouping in IHP35 & AK SUPER 350. Sure we can feel the difference in that .01mm while considering IHP & AIMCO 25 ( purchased before 6 years ). IHP fits .22 Diana shot well but second one in not that ease..!! In that case i will go for master shot..
I rated the available pellets with my toys only... Other beginners are advised to test all available brands. ( My priority is for DIANA SHOT ).

Nice rifle dude.. If it gives 30 meters effective range, 3500 is a good deal..!! But stock is a painted one, no..?alladeen wrote:Actually this rifle belongs to my friend,
this is SDB MOD.65 .22 cal.
Its cost is Rs 3500/- in Kolkata.
This is heavier & powerful that ihp national, seems accurate but not sure about it.
Its range is between 45-50m.

Exactly Mr. Briha ji.
G.smith .22 cal pellets didn't fit.
We bought master shot pointed head .22cal pellets, it fits exactly & gave me accuracy.
It can hit up to 35m, here are some pictures.
This bamboo is shot at distance of 10m with kolkata made pellets
& master shot pointed head pellets.
1st Shot: This the result of Kolkata made local pellets.
2nd Shot: This is the result of master shot pellets.

Hi,
> Now that you have found the right Brand of pellets that gives you good accuracy - Stick to it and enjoy your shooting.

I suggest you go for a .22 cal is a gun with real power and i suggest triple headed pellets from Mastershot ! Boy they are powerful at 10 meters ! I place tin can lid and the double headed ones just punch holes in them the triple headed ones just takes down the whole system that holds the tin lid and all !
