Headache for Arms Renewals

Theres a new circular in town that states that for arms renewal one has to obtain a NOC from a police station in which a persons resides . The NOC should mention that the person has had no cases against him.
Only when this NOC is attatched to the renewal form then the ARMS licence is renewed.
The arms HQ will send a monthly database of indivisuals to all police stations and only those persons will be given a NOC.

you have one month to renew your licence from the date of expiry ,if your name is not on the list that you need to visit the ARMS HQ and humbly request for a circular with your name on it and this has to submitted to the police station.
On the whims and fancies of the personnel at the police station you would then be issued a NOC according to their priorities as issuing a NOC is not a high priority job.
Now this is a time consuming thing, i personally have been to the ARMS HQ three time and the local police station innumerable times.
its disgusting, frustating and demeaning to stand in the police station and call the lowest of the civil servant as SAHEB/SIR just to get hold of the NOC .

Its a shear waste of time and a means to harasss legal Arms holder from bearing arms.

this harassment has been there for sometime.
fools run the office and idiots are their subordinates.

This is new to me. We don't have these regulations in Kolkata YET. (I am referring to the metro cities only).

I can understand Doctor... These people think they have more power than they really have... They have no decency to reply in a polite manner. They dont understand that they are here to serve the people and not to run the people... All this is done to discourage people with arms license and scare new ones who are going to apply too... Basically to remove the prospect of getting a arms license from the minds of the ones who were going to apply too... I guess... Thank you...

the news is that this new circular bugged many with high contacts,a new circular was issued which states that it is the responsibility of the police station incharge to see that an NOC is issued promptly.

those facing issues with the police station should approach the arms hq and get a letter for issuance of NOC issued to the police station , this works wonders .
