Which air pistol to buy
Hi
I am new to shooting and want to start of target practicing at home and planning to buy a cheap air pistol.I read a few posts on this and finally decided to go for Commander air pistol from Aimco.
I need below information :
-Is there a major difference between commander air pistol(L) and Commander air pistol Boss model. How about Heman mark1 (as shown on aimco website)
-Are these models cheaper in gun shops(than at aimco)
-Which palets to use for this gun
-Are there barrels rifled.(I dont think they are but not sure)
Can any existing owner of above mentioned pistols guide me on other cheaper options available in delhi.

Re: Which air pistol to buy
Any .22 pellets will work. But different brands show different results. Suit your gun, find the best combo.
Well, these are Indian made guns, so it might be difficult to get same brand of gun in other shops. you might get some other brand.
AFAIK, most are smooth bore.
Commander has a smaller barrel, it seems
There are, but the thing is accuracy. I doubt accuracy of these pistols too.. But if you ask, here's the deal
Anand Armoury +911166217074
Karan Air gun and pistols +911166261608
Citizen sports +911167777825
Guruji Gun house (Faridabad) +911166430183
get the prices and guns available

Which model of commander air pistol do you have ...I just ordered the "Boss" model from Aimco. There is also another model mentioned in aimco website!
Also for indoor target practice with this pistol which pallets are best(guess flat heads as mentioned in other posts)

friend singh1984,
please don't go anywhere near an indian airpistol, you will repent.
if you are looking for cheap airpistol, you might as well try to find a second hand imported ones.i am sure you can find one easily.
you can import an air pistol even if you are a not a member, you will have to pay the duty.
regards
dr.jk

Flat head make perfect round holes on target, easy to calculate score
but round head gives good grouping

Re: Which air pistol to buy
Ok I know I should have gone for an imported air pistol...but looking at the price range I preffered an indian make ...just to start with and know about air gun...!I got my air pistol Boss model...and this is not a commander air pistol...its a very basic model of He-Man air pistol with a short barrel and no rear sights! At first I was pretty dissapointed because the details about the gun were not accurate and complete on the website...and (surprisingly) no posts about this model in Indians for guns!! but then atleast I have my toy in my hand...and I am yet to explore on this field!! Actually I went around in some shops in haridwar and saw some local made sir pistols sold in about 400-1300 range! They had looks but not quality as inside the long flashy barrel design (dont know why they are there)there were much smaller lenght barrels! And above all I saw the sopkeepers dry firing these toys to impress customers and attract youth(i know it ruins the air piston).I shot some 200 pallets on my home made target from 4 yards(I am in nursery guys) well I dont know the specific terms but in each session I was able to hit at around 40% success (within 2 inch grouping).
