Importing Knives and stuff to India - Experience - Pic Heavy
Check folders made by spyderco, benchmade, zero tolerance, etc.kartiksingh1992 wrote:There are a whole lot of excellent folders available currently in the market. The ones you want to get would depend on your need and budget. No need to stick to just S&W, of course they are nice but there is a plethora of other nice manufacturers in the market.aad258852 wrote:Ya , the shipping charges really took me for a ride .. actually i was not confident with knife getting delivered in coustom clearence so ordered a simple one. anyways thaks for your reply .. in case i wish to go for some for good folders what do you suggest , shall i go with S&W only.

My knife will be received now within sometime. The guy from fedex had called and asked for a confirmation whether the recepient will be there at home. After getting the affirmation he said the package will be delivered by 4.00 p.m. The staus on Fedex tracking says Jun 18, 2012 8:33 AM On FedEx vehicle for delivery MUMBAI IN waiting for that call from friend saying.. "Oye mil gaya oye."

Sure Rajat Sir. Although i am a complete novice into dis. But i would review it on the basis of it feel, ergo and such terms which i would understand.. Please advice on what possible use i can employ the ZT 0400ST as an EDC kit. Will be helpful to maintain the blade and its edge.Rajat wrote:Congratulations buddy! Very Much thanks to you and your thread kartik. Its a source of confidence the thread gave that enabled my guts to go for the Import. Its not really a big thing.. Done in an easy manner if we follow the restriction norms..kartiksingh1992 wrote:Congratulations Prasanjitprasanjit.baul wrote:Package Received.... I want to buy a Smith & Wesson SWMP5L M&P from Amazon. Looks like it will be shipped through FedEx. How much custom duty will I have to pay on this? It's about $40. Could you please estimate based on your order price?aad258852 wrote:Hi , kartik .. Thanks Kartik! Not amazon but from a seller on amazon, sorry. No idea why amazon wouldn't allow knives to be shipped. I actually like how they calculated the customs themselves and I didn't have to pay anything on delivery. It's always... how do I put it?... unpleasant - you never know how much they might charge.

Hi Kartik,
After reading your experience, I have ordered for a Spyderco Manbug from KnifeCenter. The shipment opted was via FedEx. On receiving the customs duty invoice, I could see that an "Other Charges" of INR.300/- is levied other than the customs duty INR.748.00/-
Did you ever happen to see this "Other Charges" on any of the imports via FedEx?
Regards,
Abhiram
