You do not have to look far: both Araldite and Fevitite A1 are slow setting two component epoxies which may be machined after hardening / drying. Both also have gap filling properties i.e. if during clamping etc the layers dome have a gap in between the epoxy will fill it up. Just ensure that that there is no bubbles left when pressing the layers. After mixing you will get an easy 30 min time for application which is enough.

Resinova the brand that you are using currently also manufactures regular slow setting epoxies, you may opt for these too.

The only downside is that the products mentioned above are not really transparent / clear and will impart some colour to the micarta (which might not necessarily be undesirable). However, resinova does make one slow setting epoxy (like the fast and clear that you are using) which is clear. Do not recall the brand name, you will have to look it up at the hardware store.

Corian is a material used to make pantry counters, reception table tops is offices. Had collected some bits and pieces from my ongoing projects. Thought white Corian would be a nice contrast to the brass and steel and look somewhat like ivory (will try and give it a distressed look).

The rough shape of the handle slabs was marked on the Corian Slabs and cut to shape using a hacksaw.The corners were then rounded using a file and coarse emery paper. A lot of filing ans sanding still pending ....

Thanks Rajat, trying these Corian Scales, will try and do Micarta as well... Looks relativelyt simple to do....

Thanks a ton, namcmd, Bruno, Esddee and Briha. I am enjoying working handons down to the bone. I have attempted Brick Masonry, plastering, a bit of carpetentry etc on my project sites, but working on knives is a different high altogether and very very satisfying.

Corian or Korean Marble are very prone to stains.
Anything in mind to clean those stains?
