Hi to All,
I am American and an antique gun enthusiast. I support all folks who are infavour of legal and safe gun operation and ownership.
I picked up a .69 Cal Reproduction Enfield musket by Sikligar. I have been to the Sikligar sight and they don't
seem to produce this gun anymore. I plan to sell it in the US. I am trying to find out about its proof marks. I will post pictures later. For now the mark I am interested in is a Crown over RP. It could be BP but the stampings are very poor on this gun. It is difficult to be certain. I would like to know if it has been proofed for powder. I know the Crown BP is a British Proof. I wonder if this is the Indian representaion of the British Mark or is this mark specific to India.
I want to make sure the gun is safe to fire. I don't believe it will be used with lead projectiles. It will most likely be used by an American Civil War Re-enactor who only fire blank charges.
Other marks are as follows:
12 in a diamond
Not Nitro 89 GRS
Loaipur 1971 (could be Doaipur)
*729
Any information about these marks and the maker will be appreciated.
Tom

Sikligar is a name of community that is traditionally into manufacturing weapons and iron implements. There are some gun makers with word Sikligar included in name of the company. Best would be to contact the gun maker to know if the guns have been proofed for black powder. You may try contacting the gun maker by following below mentioned links:
