So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the
Eye of the tiger

Re: Identify this gun
I don't believe that is a real gun.
It looks like some stock pieces and pipe put together to represent a firearm. Do you have photos from other angles?
I was initially going to say that some of the parts were from an SKS but I don't think that is the case here.

Looks like something cobbled together fron an air rifle. No, how could I miss it?. It's the prototype for the successor of the INSAS!

Re: Identify this gun
It, as xl_target says, is cobbled out of wood and steel. I went close enough to make out. The battered Pakistani Patton near the entrance of the museum (looks like it was hit by aircraft), however, is authentic, as are the 25-pdr and ack-ack cannon mounted at the entrance.
Cheers!

Re: Identify this gun
I agree with xl_target its not real firearm its probably made by some carpenter in that Bn just to depict the fallen souls who died fighting for the country. On lookers are to imagine it as 7.62 SLR the fire arm that was in vogue then.

A poor joke on the brave young officers who laid down their life for the nation.
The guy's who built the memorial should have thought twice before putting up this piece of cr#p.

Re: Identify this gun
chill out dudes. you honestly don't think they will put up a real firearm? Do you think the average joe strolling here will know much?
It is meant as a symbol. I don't think a simplistic representation of a gun in a memorial is any more an insult to the soldier that the crude ganeshas sold at diwali are an insult to the god.

What would the Amar Jawan Jyoti (India Gate) look like if it had something like this?hamiclar01 wrote:chill out dudes. you honestly don't think they will put up a real firearm?
Varuniks says this is a war memorial. I have yet to see anything like this in any of the memorials I have visited.I am sure the Army could do a better job.

Re: Identify this gun
This one is a result of a technique that was supposedly lost for several centuries and was recently rediscovered by RAW after a great effort. Remember King Dasharath and his "SHABDAVEDHI" arrow technique. Well this one's broadly based on the same. Pity, they couldn't spare a decommissioned a service rifle for our Shaheeds too.

It might be a Arisaka Paratrooper version with mods to prevent the barrel from being removed
