All are justified in my opinion since PayPal had become a black money haven. Anything else that I missed out?
Paypal screwed me up big time and at the same time crushing my dream of going to USA.

I never recovered from the damage done.
Speaking of PayPal becoming black money heaven, it's just total BS. Paypal money can be tracked easily and it limits the amount that can be stored in personal accounts. AFAIK Bitcoin is what they are using.

OT here, but I was caught in this transition as well. However, PayPal gave users an advance notice of a month for policy changes - maybe you did not check that email or it went to your spam folder.

Secondly, before associating pan you could have hundreds of PayPal accounts with smaller but unaccounted amounts in them. You can only track who sent the money to a particular account, not who received it - there is no reliable way, that is.

I am also surprised you did not have a cc when you were dreaming of settling down in the US - from my experience in that land, a cc is a must for many things including cc history.

Nevertheless paypal is the only reliable way to transfer money overseas without incurring a large fee.

Hello Friends,
I should say its my baddest luck as my Friend tried placing the order again with KC with address same as mentioned in the Credit Card statement and he got the same message from KC which i have mentioned in my first post in this thread. He further queried why is this problem occuring and KC has replied that when it is their First International transaction with a different person they require pre-payment of the order. Later on they accept credit cards. So either money order or check or western union or wire transfer.

Western union says they dont do outward remmittance of money. Wire transfer costs a bomb 30$ which i would as a newcomer and new earner would hesitate to spend. :(

Have anyone of you guys sent money by Check?? I will have to contact my bank and make the check for US in their name and send it to them by courier. :x

I am not very sure if they use Paypal because if they would have done they would have mentioned the same.

So guys. Is it like i will have to downpour my 30$ on some stupid charges of the bank? As i said i have anyhow applied for my own credit card but i guess even i will face the same problem as even i would be the first timer Internation customer to KC..

What do you suggest guys..

Amar Sir,

As you said you would help me out. I wouldnt mind. But someday or the other i will face this problem when i order something on my own. :(

Regards
Prasanjit Kumar Baul

@prasanjit: I am not sure if kc requires prepayment, since I also did a first time purchase with them not so long ago.

Check if your friend's card has international payment capabilities. PayPal can be arranged with kc by prior discussion with them.

Please write to Howard Korn, hk at knifecenter dot com and explain your difficulty. He shall mostly help you out.

But my first international transaction was with KC :!: Which card are you using? Visa or Mastercard? I know this might seem insulting but is it a credit card or the visa debit card with cvc code? Did you try Virtual Credit Cards provided by your bank? Also I don't know about other banks but SBI VCC cant be used for international transactions.

Could someone please shed some light on why this might be happening?
Kartik my friend is using HSBC Credit Card for sure. Visa or Mastercard i am not very sure about this. Virtual Credit Card?? I am still 23 to know about all this things coz i jus now opened a Salary Savings account with my bank which has a tieup with my company

Yes. I think only i am unlucky about this stuff. I had mailed a website in US dealing in knife after having a look in the buy sell section of Bladeforums thinking if they will possibly ship through a credit card http://www.newgraham.com and i enquired about their shipping policies and even they said the same thing that they accept pre-payment for the first transaction with an International Customer. I actually dont understand whats the problem with a Credit Card. They are getting their money and they are making business and relationship. Why all these differentiation??

There have been scams where knife was shipped and then the buyer filed for a chargeback from the cc company. The seller is at loss now since he is out of knife and out of money.
