Salt water crocodiles near Mumbai

Post by Shamsher » Fri Dec 19, 2008 9:15 pm

Hello everybody,
I believe there are salt water crocodiles living along the sea, not very far from Mumbai.

Is it true? has anyone of you seen / heard about them?

I have visited a gharial sanctury close by, but the salt water crocodile sounds interesting.

I have heard about crocs in/ around Mumbai, though I never saw a single one during my one year stay in that city... but then I wasn't looking!

Incidentally, my grandpa-in-law had quite a few crocs to his credit, but those were all in/ around the Chambal (Raj/MP). The old man rated them as better game than many of his big cat outings...

Cheers!
