Karthik. Can you please upload a pic of the Customs bill or document where they have charged the duty?? I guess the knives come under Heading Chapter 82. I want to see whether they have imposed the duty under same head. Will be helpful. Its because, the custom rate for knives have gone down from this budget session of 2012... Refer this link .... http://www.eximguru.com/indian-customs- ... tlery.aspx and select sub-heading code 8211.. i.e. this http://www.eximguru.com/indian-customs- ... rated.aspx It has a custom duty calculator.
Thanks

if i import 2 knives from knife center then i will be saving money from customs and shipping charge like u did instead of going for only one knife

Hey karthik.. My order is goin above 150$.. But I dont think I will b able to add more knives... Coz it may be considered as bulk purchase by the custom babus.. so wont take the risk..
Amarjit.. If u r ordering only one knife then do use this.. I am putting my order mostly tmrw. only thinking about the zippo.. Coz kevin has said dat he will be shipping the zippo widout fuel.. So it is not classified as flammable article.. I hope it goes ok..
As I am.ordering the products via fedex.. I have been told by my friends dat fedex accepts those product which can be shipped widout any issues. So I hope there wont be any issues..
