This is a nice article on follow through.

I personally sup follow through as follows.

Follow through does not start after the shot has been taken. It Starts before it. Follow through is a mechanism which helps us remain in focus before during and after a shot. Thus when we are ready to take shot, during and after it we focus on the shot and not its results or become ready for the next one.

It ensures one is in Zen.
