Re: Importing Knives and stuff to India - Experience - Pic H
Hello Ifgians
Looking after your experience also got a boost and confidence to import a knife and zippo lighter for my self and a knife for my friend. The following products are the one which i am going to order tommorow after i get a confirmation mail from Knifecenter about the availability of stock
i very much thank and i am greatful to the fellow ifgians who have helped me for making the choice and guiding me the right way for chosing an EDC knife.
This two are for me.

This is for my friend

Please let me know how are these products. If any of these products can face any problem with the customs as to being restricted or prohibited please let me know. The zippo lighter is out of my sheer fascination
i will be ordering the same via Fedex so that they do the custom clearance for me.
Will let you know about the transaction as and when it proceeds.

Hey kartik... I needed a good value for money once for all.. Thats the reason 120$.. anyways.. You got me nail biting situation talkin about the Assisted openinh kmives.. would like to know if any one has an experience of ordering an assisted opener. It will be helpful..kartiksingh1992 wrote:In short, there shouldn't be any problems with the products you mentioned but I would be cautious about the assisted opener, I couldn't find a clear legal standard on them. By the way 120$ cool I had a couple of Zippos clear customs before and a Ka-Bar 9" Heavy Bowie cleared just yesterday .
Congrats on your Ka-bar.. You got real good knives earlier too .

Yes. Even i am relying on the fedex as of now. I hope the ZIppo doesnt make any problem.kartiksingh1992 wrote:I remember reading somewhere on this forum that someone got assisted knives imported and as you said that you will be using fedex I don't think you need to worry too much . On unrelated topic as you said you were going to EDC the knife, would you want to have a assisted knife on your person in case of any problems with the law enforcement?
Well about having it in person i may have it for a concealed carry and not show off untill situation requires it. I hope that should be ok.. What say???

A very pertinent post,
Just carrying a knife doesnt mean you know how to use it.
Carry/conceal carry all you want, but learn to use it.

Out of all the conversation with Kevin of Knifecenter, i have got really confused whether i should go ahead ordering My 2 knives and a zippo lighter. The points he mentioned is.
1) he has shipped assisted opening knives to India.
2) He dosnt remember any incidence shipping a zippo to India. but the Zippo wont be classified as inflammable articles but it will be classified as "tools" coz it wont be shipped after fuelling. it will be shipped without fuelling.
3) He said the Fedex are good with shipping when its about India.
would be probably cancelling the zippo if i dont get any firm base on which it can be concluded that we can import zippos safely.
