Snakes

Many of them have been very lucky that when doing things around the home/property, they have

found that they were within inches of a dangerous snake that Could have biten them if it considered the

person a threat.

I assure you, this is exactly the situation in India, or any place where human habitat encroaches on snakes. (ref AbMehta and Prashantsinghs's posts above).
However, we don't usually have shoot at sight inclinations, despite having a high incidence of snakebite.

As for "disposals", the commonest Indian modus operandi involves 'lathis' (bamboo staves), field hockey sticks, and home made appliances of which shooter has extensive knowledge and experience.
