Windmills are very common inTN particularly in Kanyakumari and Palladam and in the Tuticorin areas. The towers housing the turbines and blades are mostly manufactured in Trichy ( my native place). I will upload some photos of the windmills soon.

Dear sudhaiob,
2 lakh rupees isn't affordable for most Indians. Hell, the house I'm living in costs less than 2 lakh.

Windmill farms are sprouting everywhere lately. The Prairie here is close to perfect for windmills as there is a constant wind. The land is also sparsely populated.

These windmills are gigantic!
Here are some photos of the blades being transported by the Union Pacific Railroad.

Yogibear , don't give this idea to Indian politicians , they will INSTAL , RUN , REPAIR , REMOVE before you even know that there were windmills in your backyard  - Haji
In India, the windmills are installed mostly by corporates who sell the power generated to the grid and the units generated are setoff against the electricity consumed by them any where in the state. There is no govt installed windmills in TN. All are privately owned.

That was just an illustration. You do get solar power based systems starting from Rs. 3000/-. Plus there is a Govt subsidy up to e30%.

Sir , I am sorry to say that you have no idea about it, in this budget you can only lit a emergency lamp. .

In our dist , many islands of sundarbans have no grid supply , some people use the solar ,some of my friends have solar ..

In solar system it is necessary a 12 volt battery ,a solar machine , a solar panel & many other things.

To use 2 tube light , 2 fan , 1 t.v. , 1 dvd & a computer , it must cost above INR 50,000

Also low voltage so nothing usually runs unless a stabilizer is used. How common power cuts in your area?
And do you have the low voltage problem?

Pray what is a solar machine and many other things. If you realty do know those many other things state so or else keep quiet.

Sir , are you have practical experience ? ?

My uncle lives in Patharpratima , where grid are not avilable.

He use solar system.

It is true that if you invest 1st time . It is not nessesary to invest money 4-5 for year ,

but the battery creates more problem, if you got plate shape then you have neccesary to change plate everyyear ,or if you got round shape you have to buy new battery in between 5 years..

Now cost of 12volt (140AH)appox INR 10,000 , which's maximum load 650W ,

N.B. - govt give INR18 per unit solar electric if you gave it to grid.
