It was Assamese new year too, couldn't do any shopping since everything was overpriced, had fun roaming around town though.
When I'll get to shoot a gun?

for your kind information , i tell u that Bengali & assamese calender are same. . .
& if you see the letters of bengali & assamese, they are same. (expect र 'RAW')..
IF you carefully hear the bengali u can understand . & i also understand assamese..

Happy new year to you too, Bengali and Assamese, almost same language. In fact in the 40's Bengali was used as a formal language here. Most people of upper socio-economic class spoke Bengali. My dad said he studied higher secondary in Bengali.

In west bengal & tripura bengali is 1st langauge . In Jarkhand (40% people talk in bengali ) , assam (1st language for barak vally ) & andaman - nicobar bengali is the sceond language. .
