GUN FRIENDLY HOSPITAL

Post by indiaone » Mon Mar 26, 2012 9:46 pm

Yesterday morning while visiting a super speciality hospital in Noida UP I had a pleasant surprise. In the main entrance all those who were entering had to pass through a metal detector. There was a board indicating that arms are not allowed inside. However, I found that a set of lockers have been fixed next to the door, where visitors are allowed to lock their arms after necessary entry of the no etc is made in a register. The locker door has two locking systems. One key is retained by the security people and the other is taken by the owner. While coming out of the hospital, the owner can get back the weapon.Life will be much better if this same system is introduced in other hospitals,Malls etc.The security man on duty informed me that the majority of the visitors who use the facility have IOF .32 Revolvers.

When "arms are not allowed inside" how can it be called a gun friendly hospital? :) As per the experience of other members on this website, in delhi metro rail they allow to take your gun with you after your put the details of arms license in their register. I would call metro rail to be gun friendly in this context.

This is exactly the reason why we as a nation are in such a mess

Aloha,

I had an interesting experience at a local hospital during an after hours visit.

I had to go thru a metal detector and since I Always carry a minimum of 2 folding knives,

I was questioned about them. I explained to the security guard that I have passed a course on

"Defensive Use of a Folding Knife". We had a nice conversation and he let me thru with my knives.

I also told him that the hospital policy of prohibiting "Dangerous Weapons" or similar can work against it.

IF something Bad were to happen and I was injured or Killed because I was unable to put up an effective Defense

because my "tools" were denied entry with me, the Hospital is then totaly Responsible for me and my personal

safety at ALL times while I am in their property. At least he was nice and understood my thoughts.

Let them enjoy the ownership of guns and BMWs or roam freely with rifles. :) I do not see any "shocking" in it. After all how does it matter to us or anybody so long the ownership is lawful?

Exactly! This is the point!!
They keep guns just to domunate ppl.
They open fire even in colleges.
Even police is scared because of the amount of guns and ammo they carry.
Most of the guns arent licensed.
This makea difficult for police to track down.
Recently, my classmate was shot at his arm just because he was walking with his gf , a girl which was also eyed by this No communal/caste references here,please-Mod boy!!
Arms should be given only for self defence. If you are someone who likes to keep weapons try airguns.
A recent report said that most guns in UP are licensed to ppl below 25.
Do tell me, who's gonna harm you at this age?
These guns end being used in brawls on petty things like a girl or a scratch on a car...

They keep guns just to domunate ppl.
Why are they in a position to "dominate" other people? Because they are safe to do the mischief, others don't have guns to equalize them.
They open fire even in colleges.
Why the police is not arresting them and law taking its own course?
Even police is scared because of the amount of guns and ammo they carry.
I 'm sorry I do not agree to this reasoning. If the policemen are "scared" of guns and ammo then these policemen are not fit to be in the police. On the contrary the police is afraid of the political "connections" of the trouble makers.
Most of the guns arent licensed.
This makea difficult for police to track down.
Probably you are not completely informed, there are plenty of ways to overcome this "tracking down" crime thing about licensing. Licensing is not the magic pill for connecting a gun to the crime. To get an idea it is worth reading this thread about gun registry been abolished recently in Canada http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16588 On the other hand the real story behind licensing is that it was created by tyrannical governments so that before doing mass murder, mass confiscation of weapons becomes easy. Name any mass murderer government, mass murder by it was preceded by mass confiscation facilitated by licensing or registration.

"This year will go down in history! For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!" - Adolf Hitler

I hope surely our nation does not want to follow the example of Hitler.

We have plenty of laws to put such irresponsible persons behind bars. What is the police doing?
Arms should be given only for self defence.
As per Arms Act 1959 arms licenses are issued for self defense, sport and crop protection. Nothing wrong with it. You have already said that the mischief makers have illegal weapons. So it hardly serves the purpose if legal weapons are taken away from the law abiding people. On the contrary it will only make the environment for criminals more safe.
If you are someone who likes to keep weapons try airguns.
This appears unreasonable. Why law abiding people should give up their rights and not keep firearms? Just because some mischief makers are keeping illegal firearms?
A recent report said that most guns in UP are licensed to ppl below 25.
Do tell me, who's gonna harm you at this age?
Those who want to harm you do not harm you after verifying your age. They have no respect for age, whether you are 25 or 52, they do not care.
These guns end being used in brawls on petty things like a girl or a scratch on a car...
As you have already mentioned "these guns" are illegal. We have plenty of laws to take care of these brawls irrespective of the fact whether guns, knives, bombs or whatever are used.

It needs to be understood that crime cannot be legislated away. Also illegal guns cannot be legislated away. Guns are simple tools that have been in existence for hundreds of years when there was no electricity or modern machines to produce them. They can be easily produced in any home or work shop. So the practical solution is to let the law abiding people to arm them with legal weapons so that illegal elements do not have an advantage.

@gm
I agree with you.. Law abiding citizens have all the right.
I am not denying that.
And other things, like police and license..
What you talk about is an ideal scenario. Which you and me both want.
But, the real scenario is different.
Keeping guns to attract girls? Or things like this http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=1635
This what happens.. Its not the gun's fault . It's the shooter's fault if anything happens.
All i am talking about is licensing should be more strict. So that only clean ppl can lay their hands on guns.

I dont want to pin point some community, but ask any one in Noida/GNoida, No community/caste references on IFG,please-Mod has created a ruckus over here.
I am just sayin that licensing shud be more strict.
Ofcourse if u are someone who is a good citizen will get license

Of course nobody can ever support irresponsible behavior.
I dont want to pin point some community, but ask any one in Noida/GNoida, ***** communty has created a ruckus over here.
I would personally avoid pointing fingers, insinuations or make sweeping comments about any particular community or group in any manner, since all kinds of people from good to bad are to be found everywhere regardless of any kind of social groups. I would request you to please edit your posts to remove such mention.

If you read the statistics of National Crime Records Bureau, more than 99% of murders are done using illegal weapons(It clearly shows that criminals do not respect law that is why they are breaking law. And important point to be noted is that most of the victims are disarmed by law to make them defenseless). As you have already mentioned that most of the trouble makers do not own legal arms, it hardly matters to them if licensing is "strict" or reasonable.

Also I would say again that may be you are not well informed about the corruption and nonsense that is going on in the offices of licensing authorities. The licensing is not just "strict" but strict in a manner that is awfully unreasonable and insane to the point of being plainly illegal and unconstitutional. If you read the following threads you will get an idea wherein licensing authorities simply deny arms license to almost every applicant on baseless grounds like there is "no threat". But if these very "authorities" get a phone call from "powers that matter" believe me the license will get delivered at the doorsteps of applicant in matter of few days or maybe hours.
