My Modified IOF 30-06 Rifle with Pics

I Had recently modified my IOf 30-06 rifle, Please have a look and comment...

1. Fitted with new english wallnut stock and fore hand shape changed with hand checkering.
2. Pachmayr Recoil pad.
3. Action Annodized with matt black finish.
4. Made and screwed New 11mm-3/4" scope rail from Al.Alloy.
5. Fitted Bushnell Scope with HD Steel Scope rings.
6. Rock mount Bipod Fitted.
7. Uncle Mike Sling with Black Hawk Rings.
8. Barrel Crowning,Re-Truing,Grinding and Bluing done.
9. All sights removed
10. Bolt changed and firing pin and spring changed.

great modifications done............i dont own any real firearm but still i have a great passion for them.........ur rifle looks beautiful....may be soon ill get mine .

coolaman,

White line spacers these days are akin to wearing bell bottoms.Their time is gone with the hippies.

Quite a bit of material seems to have been removed from the barrel where the rear sight is fitted.The chamber is in the barrel and removing a significant amount of steel directly in front of it is not a good idea.Also the machining does not appear to be flawless.The barrel has been turned into a straight tube.Strange profile for a barrel.The fellow who worked on it does not appear to have the skill to taper it.

The bolt knob appears to be oversize.Also the shape of the bolt is a bit odd.Your English walnut probably came from the Himalyas :wink:

But it is your rifle.If you are happy with it,I am happy for you.

An idea of what can be done to the IOF 30-06.A friend sent it to me.Done by Bobby Sidhu from Patiala

Awesome makeover... looks like it was made in Europe :-)

And you even have a Perazzi sticker on your windshield..

Dear Barrel has 1.5-2mm taper not visible in the pic and it was maintained on a cylindrical grinder ....about the finish and all didnt hav time for the same...it took 5 months to complete after dismantelling with wat ever I can precure easily sitting in my office .. I did it for my self...if i would hav been paid 1.25l for the job will definately leave patiala behind.

even after pulling your leg or the pigs :D i agree with what you are trying to do. and doing it yourself is to be congratulated. not an easy task by any means.
