That is all time great revolver my uncle had one - some one stole it. Its Prohibited bore but what a canon..there was a member here whose dads bodyguard had it and he maintained it in a great condition was very sad when it was taken away...other one I believe even Indian jones carried one

http://www.indygear.com/igguns.html

Do give some history on this revolver whether you own it etc?

Best

@ ngrwal,

I got this cannon couple of years ago from one of my friend. I also have orginal holster for the gus as you can see in pic, date on the holster is 1916. Its great on accuracy & it blows off the target by 6 rounds. I found bit hard to get ammo for it from local dealer but now I have got heaps.....

@ Baljit,

I am in Aus.

Actually it isnt easy in Aus either to get handgun bigger than .40 caliber for civillians... Some influence being a Babu here worked in my case...

@avi88,

Congrats and enjoy your possession.
It must be really wrist breaker to shoot .455 continuously, that too a Webley rev, as it has the customary jerk upwards.

Please share your experience with us.

cheers

Tnx Perfectionist1,

Well its not that bad, definately more recoil compared to small calibers like .22 or .32

I would say its recoil is just nothing if you compare ammunition with a small caliber ammo before shooting, coz .455 ammo looks 3 time bigger than .32, so you assume its goin to be a nightmere shooting this handgun...

It has huge stopping power.... an I found it quite accurate too...

congrats avi88 - Agree its a mini cannon - actually I recall one such revolver used to be carried in a small suitcase by a well know politician back in 70s. One that was stolen in my family nobody wanted to haul it around and some one swiped it - family knew the perpetrator but let it be.

Chers

Nice revolver, .455 is a real man stopper. How long you had to wait to get the license?
You guys in Australia are losing gun rights fast, IIRC you guys could buy semi-auto rifles with 'evil' before Martin Bryant went in killing spree. You guys should form a powerful lobby before it gets out of hand. Is there any provisions for concealed carry there?
When I'll get to shoot a gun?

That is funny. An Indian telling some one in Australia what to do re. gun ownership.Buddy you are in India and not USA.

We do not have a lobby.Australians have a political party to promote the interests of the shooting fraternity.

We find it extremely difficult to get a license.Compared to India,Australian process is a lot faster.

We can own only 3 firearms. No such restriction in Autralia.

We can not buy new imported firearms Australians can.

We have a limit to the amount of ammo we can buy, they don't.

They can reload ammo.we can't......should I go on?
