Importing a parang

I have a Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series Parang and a Survival Series Ultimate Knife in USA

I will be bringing them to India when I travel back. I don't think knife is an issue, as the blade is only 5" long.
For the Parang, do i need a licence as the blade is 13.5" (more then 9") long or will it qualify as an agricultural tool.
And if I do need licence. Will I be able to get it while I am here?

I am also planning to buy a Compound Bow or Cross Bow (May be both ). Please advise on bring them as well.

the compound bow will not be a problem. dont have first hand info on the others.

Marthandan, Thanks for clarifying about compound bow. Do I have to worry about what arrow points I am carrying?

I just came back with a PSE Stinger 3G yesterday with 24 arrows with 24 field points and 5 broadheads and there was no problem at all.
If you want to buy a good compound bow buy a Mathews Helium. Its a bit pricy though.

I am still not sure if I want to spend over $1000 for a bow, but was really interested in Hoyt Carbon Matrix. I'll take a look at Mathews Helium also. There is an Archery store where I live who sells both Hoyt & Mathews.

Any suggestions for Bows under $500?

There are many PSE's available under that price range. Some of then can also be had as a field ready package under same amount.

I myself purchased my PSE Stinger with arrows, rest, field points, release, guard for a little over 500$ excluding shipping. I will be happy to recomment this Bow to anyone who is looking for a reliable, rugged, accurate and reasonably silent and vibration free bow.

You can also check manufacturers web sites for other options.
