a little bit about the kirdashi...
its made from file steel annealed and hardened in a coal furnace, then tempered in a oven. it has a flat grind with a little bit of a convex edge. the knife was left with grind marks and scale to contrast with the polished edge.

the sheath is designed for neck carry. it is 1.5 mm veg tanned leather cut using the kirdashi itself and dyed using black shoe polish (gel type polish).

Wow! Tiny 'Khachaas' Moin. / marthandan, I can see lots of loving work on this mere handful of real, practical, & deadly tool!

Are you guys sure this is a ' Kiridashi' and not a 'Kardashian' - very sexy indeed! Hai! :D

This is one evil blade, absolutely demonic and unholy.. Summoned for destruction from the darkest pits of hell     8 full inches of 1095 Carbon Steel.....

The Becker BK5 Magnum Camp Knife...

Here's a very nice video review of the knife for those who want to know more.

Out and out Tactical Blade, this is no way a camp knife as it is marketed to be, better off buying a BK2 or the Essee Series.

Image

Extremely comfortable handle, point of balance is where the index finger rests on the handle. The handle is made of hard plastic Kabar calls Grivory, I prefer the textured feel of G10. Have seen several mods of Becker Handles on the internet where the handle is stippled, hatched or cord wrapped for added traction. This would surely be sliipery when wet. The Micarta handles that are sold seperately should have been standard on the blade :x . The light brown handles Micarta handles look gorgeous with the deep black coated blade, like Cindy Crawford in Victoria's Secret Satin Lingerie

Full tang ending into a large skull crusher/glass breaker with a nice and large lanyard hole

The handle is extremely comfortable to hold in forward and reverse grips

Image

Image

The thick blade narrows down to a thin swedge at about an inch from the choil. Probably done to reduce weight and make it more manouverble. I would have preferred the thick spine to continue and then narrow down to from an about an inch from the tip. This would have probably made it more suitable for batoning and the blade more stiff. But I am sure the Master Designers at Becker would have something in mind for having done this.

Image

Like all Kabar's the knife is shaving sharp right out of the box. ( See pic of the bald patch on my hairy legs

Kiridashi Knife stole my heart away!!!

whou, you guys can actually open a museum!!! those knives with japanese sort of paintings on handle look really cool!

i dont know what will happen to a thief, if he EVER enters your house. poor guy.
So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger
It's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the
Eye of the tiger

Very generous unsharpened choil for closeup work...

Image

Now for the sheath, ( The Blade made in USA, the Sheath in China WTF.... ) . Does not compliment the lovely blade at all. Like Langoor ke Mun main angoor, like Raj Kunder marrying Shilpa Shetty

Image

Image

Has pouches for storing the Becker neck knife and probably a multitool...

Image

Has an El Cheapo plastic casing inside to house the blade, should have been a nice kydex casing where the blade fits in securely...

Image

Nice and large belt loop, should have had other carry options, but again this is being marketed as a camping knife...

Image

To sum it up, this is a wickedly large 8 inches of 1095 Carbon Steel, the blade's light and very manouverble, a very nice belly and a large flat grind for that slicing action and last but not least the Becker brand name....
